DIANE'S
STRATEGY FOR A BETTER CITY FUTURE
I am a 45-year
resident and community activist. My business, Total Tax Service,
provides bookkeeping and tax preparation services. I have actively
served in a leadership capacity with many local and city organizations
and committees. I am a National spokesperson on equal pay, care
and support of abused women, and issues concerning administrative
and judicial support for victims of domestic abuse.
It is my goal
to improve on the approach our government takes to address city
issues, that is, a proactive rather than reactive approach for
handling the City's resources. Strong growth makes it imperative
that all decisions be made based on long-range planning and a
coordinated five and ten-year Capital Improvements Program. Strategies
are necessary to assure adequate and orderly development of future
capital improvements and support services. While I support a move
to self-determination and zoning, the City must be aggressive
in establishing its own programs and policies for its future growth
and development. Increased participation in determining use of
our public resources, including those of police, fire, emergency
services and schools is mandatory for the City to manage the quality
of life preferred by its citizens.
Community
service and helping other individuals to develop the skills to
improve their lives has always been my priority. I feel that I
have the experience and vision to make a real contribution to
our City.
